Find out why the STA has called for new targets. SolarTradeAssociationNews

The STA has called upon the Government to commit to a target of 40GW of solar capacity by 2030 in a letter to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy.
In the letter to Alok Sharma, the STA Chief Executive Chris Hewett called on the Government to follow the advice of top climate advisors and commit to real action. He went on to say:

“Unleashing the potential of solar in the UK would rapidly create thousands of skilled jobs across the country. Our industry can help to spread the green recovery from Land’s End to John O’Groats.”

This campaign urges the government to focus on solar as a priority, especially given the context of solar helping to achieve 67 coal-free days in 2020. This new low carbon record is a signal for a growing appetite for solar across the UK and is one that the STA hopes the government will act upon.
